My writing career in a nutshell; if it involves putting words together, I've probably done it.

As a freelance writer, I’ve sold over 150 articles on topics like travel, art, food & wine, boating, pop culture, and parenting. My work has appeared in Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel, The Writer, Voyaging, Points North, Skylights, and many other magazines, newspapers, and web sites.

I've also written three books of true crime satire; Death Row's Wildest Women, Death Row's Oddest Inmates and Last Suppers: Famous Final Meals from Death Row. I've been researching and writing about death row cases for over 20 years and maintain two blogs devoted to the topic. For more information, visit the Oddest Inmates blog and the Last Suppers blog.

I’m the author of the mystery novels Secret 77 and The Devil Did Grin, and my collected short stories are now available in the book Down a Crooked Road; Tales of Mystery & Suspense.

I currently teach at the University of Miami. I also taught writing classes for Clayton State University and have lectured at Oglethorpe University.

My awards include a gold medal at the 2008 GAMMA Awards and first prize in the 2007 travel writing contest sponsored by Writers Journal magazine.
